Terms and Conditions

Product use

All our products are designed to meet domestic use. If you intend to use our products for business use we strongly recommend that you contact us for further consultation. All Products are sold subject to the Terms and Conditions set out below. Certain words and phrases have special meanings when used in these Terms and Conditions - these words and phrases are defined in the 'Definitions' section.

Basis of Sale and Acceptance of Order

Your order is considered as confirmed by you, once confirmation of your order arrives in writing and deposit stated in our quote to you is received by us. All orders are subject to these conditions and become binding as soon as we have accepted it. If your order is accepted, you will be notified of this soon after you submit your order. As the confirmation is sent to you automatically, an error may have been made of which we are not aware despite our best efforts. Because of this, we retain the right to cancel the order as set out under the "Cancellation" heading. Our acceptance of your order is conditional on the availability of the Products you have ordered. If any of the Products you have ordered are unavailable, or should events occur beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to cancel your order. In such circumstances we shall let you know as soon as possible. Once order confirmed, we reserve the right to charge you any costs we have incurred in relation to your order being cancelled by you.

Made-to-Measure Production (Bespoke)

We rely on the accuracy of your measurements when ordering made-to-measure products. We do not accept responsibility for any inaccurate measurements provided by you. It is your responsibility to check all details and aspects of your order, including measurements, dimensions, product features, access in your home on delivery and delivery. Door styles, colours, hinges, keyhole surrounds, worktops and other details are all subject to personal quotations. For massive variation of worktop styles and materials (block style, plank style, granite etc), we are regrettably unable to offer any exact pricing other than when you contact us for personal quote.

 Colours, Descriptions and Unique Features

Every effort is made to ensure that the Products we supply correspond as closely as possible to the samples shown in our shops or displayed in our catalogue and on-line, but they might not be exactly the same. We regret that no responsibility can be accepted for these slight variations, which all add to the unique features of our Products including but not limited to the following:

  1. References to ‘gold' and ‘silver' are, unless stated otherwise, references to the respective colours.
  2. Our products are individually hand finished and therefore there will be some slight differences between batches.
  3. Some of our Products are hand finished to look distressed. Distressing will vary from Product to Product and is a unique design feature and not a defect.
  4. All measurements are approximate, please allow +/- 2% variance on sizes stated.
  5. When there are critical dimensions such as restricted ceiling height etc. we must be given the measurement together with any desired clearance. Please remember to measure within skirting, where fitted cabinetry required and using metric measurement.
  6. At times it may be necessary to make changes to the internal specifications of our products and we reserve the right to make such changes.
  7. Some larger Self-Assembly pieces will require 2 persons to assemble.

Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colour reproduction; colour may vary in accordance with the settings of your monitor, software, or printer.


Every effort is made to ensure that the prices shown are correct at the time of publication. If an error has been made, we or you may cancel the order in relation to some or all of the Goods as indicated under "Cancellation".

It may be necessary to raise our prices in certain circumstances, e.g. if component costs increase or currency conversions change rapidly. The price for the Products you order will be the price confirmed to you when or soon after you place your order. If this varies from any quoted price, we will contact you to check that you still wish to proceed. All prices are in ‘£’ Sterling and exclude delivery charges where they apply. We reserve the right to change prices without notice.

Furniture, Kitchens and Worktops Maintenance

Please note that wooden work tops require regular maintenance to stay in good condition especially around sinks. Oil should be applied once a day for the first week, twice a week for the first month and thereafter once a week on oiled surfaces. We do not advise draining directly on to the work or granite top. Although we offer a set of 5 draining grooves in wood and granite, they are largely cosmetic and we would suggest using a draining board with integral tray. We can not accept liability for poorly maintained work tops or furniture and kitchens or damage caused by faulty plumbing or the effects of excessive, temperature, moisture, sunlight or chemicals.


It is your responsibility to ensure that the Products you have ordered will fit into your home, and that there is sufficient access for our delivery van to reach the delivery address. An adult must be available at the address to carefully check the unwrapped product, sign and acknowledge receipt of ‘goods as ordered’ and that they are in satisfactory condition. Please report any defects immediately upon delivery. For Self-Assembly Products, we usually offer to assemble products on delivery. When goods are delivered by third party, you are only required to sign for the packaged goods received and inform us within 24 hrs of any defects. Because our product is made especially to your order it is not possible to return it if not suitable. If furniture arrives damaged or we have made mistakes with your order we will of course repair or replace it as soon as possible. We can not be held liable for conditions of use or storage within the customers' house after delivery which may affect the furniture in any way; nor for the failure of customer's tradesman installing furniture / plumbing / or providing with electrical work incorrectly.

Delivery Charges and Carriers

The Bohemian Company only offers standard delivery to the Mainland England and Wales, all other territories are treated as delivery abroad. We welcome orders from the UK as well as the rest of the World. All deliveries are quoted on case to case basis and are subject to quote. Mostly depending on volume of order, size of goods and distance to the customer. Except for when using third party’s kerb-side delivery service (only possible on certain size non fragile items), we deliver our furniture to the inside of your home and place it at location in the room we have agreed. Fitting can be ordered while placing your order and is charged as an extra. An additional delivery charge is payable for deliveries above first floor, deliveries requiring more than one delivery crew or a small van for access and other exceptional circumstances. Our staff will advise you of the additional delivery charge where applicable at the time you place your order or as soon as possible thereafter.

Please note that we will charge you a non-refundable storage fee of £100 per full week in the following circumstances :

  • Where bookings have not been made: 3 weeks after the original due date of the furniture or from the day after the first booking attempt by Customer Services (whichever is the later.)
  • Where bookings have been made: if you are unavailable to take delivery of your furniture order after agreeing delivery dates with us.

Where we have attempted to deliver, however the location circumstance (access, higher floor, staircase) is not found to be in accordance with the situation described in your order and/or outstanding balance for additional efforts to deliver has not been settled.

Delivery Times

Delivery dates and weeks are not guaranteed but we will do our utmost to ensure goods are delivered within the stated period of 3 – 12 weeks or soon afterwards. Once we have received your deposit we will send you an order acknowledgement with an estimated delivery week. Please check the order acknowledgement carefully to ensure that we build the items to the correct size and specification. Delivery dates are not guaranteed but we will do our utmost to ensure goods are delivered within the stated date or soon afterwards.

Usually, 2 weeks prior to delivery you will be offered a delivery day based on our carrier's availability in your area. If you cannot accept the date offered this might delay your delivery. Our carrier will call approximately two days prior to the agreed delivery date to confirm the day and an estimated time. It is your responsibility to ensure that furniture you have ordered will fit into your home. It is very important that you carefully measure where the piece is going to go and also whether we can get it to the location. Delivery crew will not attempt delivery where damage to your home may result; neither will they remove doors or windows. Please check especially hallways, doorways, staircases and narrow corners. If access is a problem we can make our furniture in more pieces and assemble it on delivery. Please ask for bespoke quote. We shall not be responsible for delays or failures in delivery caused because we cannot gain access to the delivery address on the agreed delivery date or because of other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Specific delivery times and days cannot be agreed at any time in the order process. If no one is available to accept delivery or goods can not be delivered for the above reasons we charge you complete delivery charges and again at each attempt we make to deliver your order. Where the item/s ordered will not fit into your home, we will charge you non-refundable removal fee of £50 per single item and £75 total for more than one item besides the original delivery charges, if items removed at the same time when delivered. For items attempted to be delivered by third party and which are due to be removed, collection charges will be billed to you. Any additional delivery charges, which will occur during delivery (first floor etc.) will be payable on delivery to our delivery crew.

Risk of Damage in Transit, Property

We carry the risk of loss or damage to the Products until you receive them. The Products will belong to you when you have received them and have paid us in full for them, which ever comes later. Until payment has been made in full we may ask you to return the Products to us at any time. If you return the Products to us for any reason, they will become our property and be at our risk from the time at which we receive them.

Payments and Payment Methods

You may pay using Paypal, Bank transfer, Personal cheque and/or Banker draft. We do not proceed with your order until the expected payment is with us. We build your order and usually require a 50% deposit for all orders over £1000, unless agreed otherwise. Full payment is required for orders under £1000. The balance will be requested 2 weeks before despatch. Cheques and banker drafts must be cleared before we can despatch. Please make cheques payable to "The Bohemian Company (1994) Ltd.'' and send them to our office address. Please note that payments made via Paypal are be subject to a 3.4% surcharge above the total amount invoiced. Also please ask for information on our interest free credit deals available at the time of your order.


We do not accept any cancellations of orders for Made-To-Measure (Bespoke) Products. We reserve the right to charge you the agreed price in relation to your order, excluding the delivery charge, should you be cancelling no later than 48 prior to the delivery, where we would charge you the delivery charge too.

Returns and Refunds

All our product whether Standard or Bespoke is made to order (Bespoke) and therefore non returnable, unless they have been inspected and confirmed as defective by our representative. If you believe any of our Products to be of an unsatisfactory quality please immediately (within 24hrs of receiving them) contact us in writing via email or by phoning us and treat your Product with the utmost care. If goods are considered of satisfactory quality or damage is considered not be caused while goods were our property, such inspection will be charged. Nothing mentioned in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights in the unlikely event that the goods do not meet a standard required by law.


Every effort is made to ensure that all the information provided on our websites are correct at the time. No order is binding on you or The Bohemian Company until we have accepted it. These terms and conditions cannot be varied by you or us unless made in writing and signed by both parties. If any provision contained in these Terms and Conditions is considered by any court or regulatory authority to be unfair, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be considered deleted from these Terms and Conditions without affecting the other provisions. The law of England and Wales governs these Terms and Conditions and all disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. These Terms and Conditions apply if you are dealing with us as a consumer or trade customer. In these Conditions:

  • 'Goods' means the goods in your shopping basket at the time of ordering. It includes any service that comes with any goods.
  • 'Distance Communication' means purchases exclusively made via telephone, fax, mail order and/or our website;
  • 'Furniture' means beds and cabinet items made to your order such as wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside tables, tables, and non-upholstered chairs;
  • 'Made-To-Measure' (Bespoke) means Products altered or made to measurements provided by you such as wardrobes, benches or beds;
  • ‘Standard Furniture' means Furniture and Kitchens Products made to your order at our standard size and specification such as wardrobes, chests of drawers, sink units etc.
  • ‘Bespoke Furniture' means Furniture and Kitchens Products altered in any way from our standard size and specification or made to measurements provided by you.
  • 'Product or Products' means The Bohemian Company (1994) Ltd. good(s);
  • 'Self-Assembly Products' means furniture delivered flat packed for assembly by the customer;
  • ‘we', 'us', 'our' means The Bohemian Company (1994) Ltd.;
  • 'you', 'your' means one of our customers.
